Friday 11th April:  There was a great turn out for the Doubles KO Cup.
32 Doubles (64 players) made for an exciting evening's competition which was won by the Café Enna pairing of John Dodd and Dale Telfer  beating J. Robson & K. Seales (Phoenix A), 3 games to 1.
Over the course of the evening Dale scored an impressive FOUR 180's.

For a FOURTH consecutive season:
CAFÉ ENNA 'A' are the 2024-25 season Division A  Champions
beating rivals Mickley SC 'A' in an end of season showdown.
This latest win gives the Café Enna  the astonishing achievement of EIGHT Championships in the last nine years and in the year they failed they were runners up.   A hearty CONGRATULATIONS.

Tris Douglas
(Café Enna) has won the Supersingles for the third consecutive year with an incredible, record breaking total of 233 points with P. Sinclair (Rose & Crown) taking second place with a creditable 171 points.

Sat 1 st March.   The match between Café Enna and the Fox saw a 180 fest unlike anything our League has witnessed in its long existence . An astonishing total of EIGHT maximums were scored by four players.  Top Dog was Tris Douglas with THREE, Dale Telfer and Andy Goodfellow with TWO each and G. Nicholson for the Fox.  Brilliant!
Congratulations to this season's Division B Champions The Blue Bell and runners up Ovington S.C.

 

 

 

Friday's (21st Feb) David Herron Trebles Competition saw 17 teams compete
The Phoenix was well represented entering 4 teams with one of them; featuring, Craig Cooper, Derek Ryder & Gordon Thompson, making it through to the Final.  The wining finalists on the night was team Café Enna; Dale Telfer, Steve Plemper and Tris Douglas.
Although there were no high out shots there was a total of  ten 180's
J. Johnson, S. Armstrong, S Storey, K. Seals & B. Douglas each hitting the max, while grabbing two, was Dale Telfer.  But top of the shots was Tris Douglas  with Three.
Thanks to all the teams who took part and made the Trebles the great competition it is.

Should we rename to Hexham and District PREMIER League 🙂
Not to be out done by his team mate Dale’s performance in last week's league win Tris Douglas pulled out all the stops in his singles, winning all three legs in 19, 12 and 15 darts!
Included in a magnificent game were finishes of 170 and 113 and the icing on the cake was a 98 average.  Congratulations to Tris. 

P.S.  Can’t wait for next weeks installment!

Friday night's Division A league match (7th February) between Café Enna and Mickley B saw Dale Telfer produce probably one of the best league singles games.
Dale took the 3 legs in 18, 15 and 13 darts  and in the last leg hit 3 consecutive 140's averaging overall a massive 96 points. Well Done!
